Autumn TV Shows

Autumn’s here! Schools are back and with the sun slowly disappearing, there are no more bbq parties and the chill is here. This can only mean one thing, comfort TV! (Trashy TV to some) But for those chilly nights, wrecked from commuting, kids in bed and can’t be bothered going to the gym; you can rely on a good bout of X-Factor, Strictly come dancing, Dragons Den, I’m a Celebrity…Get me out of here! etc

One of my favs is the X-Factor, woooh this show gets my juices flowing (hubster gets confused at my enthusiasm every year since the show started); thing is I secretly love the limelight but I can’t sing so I’ve ended up being one of those who screams at Louis Walsh when he makes a crazy decision or comment on what the female judges wear.

I especially love the UK auditions, where we get to meet different personalities with either amazing or crappy voices – I’m convinced some people get paid to audition for the show. So I grabbed the iPad earlier today to catch up on the episodes I missed from last weekend on ITV Player, firstly it’s the return of Cheryl Fernandez-Versini together with fresh faces Rita Ora and Nick Grimshaw (plus Simon Cowell of course!). It’s a breath of fresh air and the judges seem to be having alot of fun.

Sean Miley Moore

Another nice surprise is the pool of talent this year, acts are wowing with amazing stage production, backup dancers and dance routines like these people aren’t joking at all! From the fabulous girlband ‘4th Power’ direct from the Philippines, then we have acts like Sean Miley Moore from Australia or the boyband ‘The First Kings’ who smashed their audition with an elaborate stage production.

BBC’s ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ is another show I enjoy. It’s about a number of celebrities selected to learn how to dance ballroom with professionals. I love the “glitz and glam”, the outrageous outfits, the dancing, the ‘lines’ and postures they make while they dance plus the flamboyant judges [I live for Bruno Tonioli’s comments]. It’s definitely a world away from the X-Factor which sometimes clashes with Strictly Come Dancing but I don’t mind flipping channels as they appeal to me differently.

Over the years though the show has become more about the pros as much as it is about the celebrities, mainly due to the scandalous stories which pop up about them. I do have to admit, they are the main reason I keep watching the show [I’ve got a soft touch for Pasha Kovalev, 2014 winner].

This year’s show is looking sizzling already with more beautiful celebrities than before and new “sizzling hot” pro dancers – two males, one female.

So what other shows are people watching this autumn quarter? Any favs? Let’s hear about them, I’m open to getting hooked on more TV 😉

xoxo
